I began writing to share my passion for both teaching reading comprehension and social-emotional topics. I wanted to find a way to get those two passions in one book that would help students, parents and educators.
-Square Peg-
I wrote Square Peg to continue to shed light on the importance of social-emotional learning, with the focus of anti-bullying. I included both physical bullying in school and cyber bullying. The number of kids being bullied on social media has increased 55% in less than a decade. I want to be actively involved in creating awareness and increasing prevention.
This book follows a middle school student on their journey of self-discovery from bystander to hero.
I also took my deep commitment to teaching reading comprehension and added that into this middle-grade novel. In the back of the book, there is reading comprehension information, questions for each chapter broken down by reading comprehension type, reflection opportunities, and discussion questions. Best of all, there is space for students to answer so all their thoughts are in the book. I hope this book will be a successful tool for classrooms, as well as for parents at home.

I wrote Educ8ing All: 8 Guiding Principles for mazimizing success through collaboration, communication, and positive relationships to let readers know what 8 principles I believe are imperative for success for 8 different student support roles in education.
I used my personal experiences, including my education, trainings and professional development to foster guiding principles and thoughts to help these roles and schools be successful.
